'The Transit of Venus' is one of the few great Australian novels I have missed. I must get to it soon. How can I maintain the list of my favorite Australian novels without reading one of the best? Thank you for reminding me.

Shirley Hazzard led an amazing life and put much of herself into The Transit of Venus. Australia plays a role, and there's so much more.
